Samsung Z1, Tizen based smartphone officially launched in India. It is priced in India at Rs.5700. With the new Z1, Samsung has aimed at Indian locals by providing localized apps, Simple user interface and enhanced smoother web performance.
Overall, Samsung Z1 on Tizen is a lightweight platform with advanced web performance, faster boot time and quicker app access time. It seems Samsung is trying to reduce its dependency on the Google’s Android with the new Tizen OS.
Samsung Z1 Specifications
The Samsung Z1 features a 4.0 inch PLS TFT capavitive touchscreen with 480×800 pixels resolution. It weighs around 112 g which would be pretty easier to handle and play with. Internally the device sports 4 GB user memory with 768 MB supporting RAM and also supports expandable memory up to 64 GB via microSD card.
Z1 packs a primary camera of 3.15 MP and secondary camera of VGA capacity. The camera is made complete with a single LED flash, Geo-tagging and face detection features. It runs on Spreadtrum chipset with supporting dual-core 1.2 GHz processor. The Tizen v2.3 makes the Samsung Z1 a lighter platform running mobile available in the market today.
The special features of the Z1 smartphone includes the Ultra power saving mode which makes the phone usable even in low battery levels. Mobile entertainment on Z1 is set to new standards with wide range of free entertainment content related to movies, music, mobileTV and radio. Samsung will launch a free entertainment package called Joy Box providing users free access to music and movies. Just as Android do, Tizen OS on Z1 scans the app while installation for viruses. Further, it scans incoming messages, mails for viruses and informs the user before opening it.
Coming to the price and availability of the device, it would be available from 14th January at Rs.5700. It would be available in three different colors(White, Black, Wine Red).
