How to root Android Oreo 8.0 through SuperSu

The Android Oreo 8.0 is now available for download for Google Pixel and Nexus devices. The operating system is currently under testing and is available only as developer preview. As of now Google has released 4 developer previews of Android Oreo 8.0 for Nexus and Pixel devices.

The latest developer version released a month ago has support to get rooted easily using SuperSu or Magisk. Even before the public release is available, you can install the current developer version and root it to gain complete device access. Rooting Android Oreo 8.0 through SuperSu

Step 1: Download the SuperSu v2.82 .zip package.

Step 2: Transfer the zip package to the device’s root storage.

Step 3: Boot the device into TWRP recovery mode.

Step 4: Tap on Install option and choose the previously transferred SuperSu v2.82 .zip package.

Step 5: After choosing the .zip package, Swipe to confirm flash on bottom of screen to begin the flashing of SuperSu package.

Step 6: Once the flashing is completed, you will get an option to reboot the device. Select Reboot System option.

That’s it. You have access to root of your Android Oreo 8.0 device.

Rooting Android Oreo 8.0 through Magisk

Step 1: Download Magisk installer and Magisk manager apk files.

Step 2: Transfer the both packages to the device’s root storage.

Step 3: Boot the device into TWRP recovery mode.

Step 4: Tap on Install option and choose the Magisk Installer zip package transferred previously.

Step 5: After choosing the Magisk installer package, Swipe to confirm flash on bottom of the screen. It begins flashing Magisk installer on device.

Step 6: Once the flashing is done, choose Reboot system option.

Step 7: After the device reboots, navigate to the Magisk manager apk file transferred previously and install it.

Step 8: Launch Magisk manager app and check the device root status.

That’s it. You have gained root access for your Android Oreo 8.0.
